I Can Do It!
“Aku Pasti Bisa” ( I Can Do It!) is a story that defies stereotypes and promotes children’s self-esteem. If you are shy and small, can you roar like a tiger? If you are big, can you jump high like a deer? If you wear large thick glasses, can you become a prince? If you have dark-skin and curly hair, can you become a princess? This book has a parallel story structure. Two story lines alternate and intersect within the text and illustration spreads to deliver to young readers the message of not giving in to stereotypes and that ‘if you believe, you can do it’.
